Please?
Please?
Be my friend?
Mend the fracture in my ill used heart,
Start as we mean to go on,
Don your cloak as my Sir Walter Raleigh,
Tally my score as I add to my wins,
Sins I have committed, yes I am flawed,
Clawed my way almost back to the top,
Stop, listen to my litany a while,
Smile and maybe light up my life,
Wife I have been, I tried my best,
Rest wasn't easily come by at times,
Rhymes were my respite, my cure,
Sure of some peace at last for me,
He was at rest yet so sorely missed,
Kissed his lips for one last time,
Mime, "I love you", as I walk away,
Grey cloud above hovering again,
When all else has failed I turn to words,
Herds of rounded up and corralled grammar,
Stammer them out before you weep,
" Keep me safe, please care for me,
We could be good for one another",
Smother any words of hostility!
