SO PEOPLE SAY

I’m going to a place unseen

Where everyone can hear you scream.

Where night and day,

Are all as one, so people say.

Where right is wrong and might is right,

The sky is black and black is white.

Where trees are dead and no bird sings,

No zephyrs play on butterfly wings.

No baby cries at break of day.

All is still, so people say.

I really can’t wait to arrive.

There’s a train each day at 5.05.,

Already left at ten past three,

It sounds the greatest place to me.

So people say, they make it clear,

It’s far, far better than being here.

I’m going to that place unseen

Where everyone can here you scream.

I’m going to see the doors of hell

So I can get to know them well.

I’m going to hear the tortured souls

Batter heads upon the walls.

Where here is now and now is then,

If no one can remember when.

Up is down and dark is cold

And only youth is growing old.

So people say and I’ll agree,

A far, far better place to be.

When I come back you’ll hear me shout,

What was all the fuss about?
